Philip Koch, born in Munich in 1982, works as director, producer, and screenwriter. After receiving his A-levels in 2002, Koch joined the SWR in Baden-Baden for an editorial internship. He went on to study feature film directing at the University of Television and Film Munich and worked as film critic, assistant director, sound and production assistant. In 2009, he participated in the programm "Werkstatt Bavaria" by the Bavaria Film media company. His controversial feature film debut "Picco" garnered several German film prizes. Moreover, the film was invited to the Cannes International Film Festival where it was the subject of controversial public discussion.
